About the Deputy Superintendent
The deputy superintendent oversees the Department of Academics and Student Learning and various divisions including Teaching and Learning, Student Services, Human Resources, Communications, Enrollment, Online Learning, and Student Information/ EMIS/ Technology Integration. In addition, the deputy superintendent directs the day-to-day operations of all facets of the school district. Acting as the superintendent's right hand, the deputy superintendent assists in providing leadership to the district that will yield the best possible learning experiences for all Dublin students.
About Dr. Schwanke
Dr. Jennifer Schwanke, the District’s deputy superintendent, has a long history of service to Dublin City Schools. She has been the principal of Indian Run Elementary, the Scottish Corners Elementary principal, and assistant principal at both Sells and Karrer Middle Schools. Prior to entering administration, she was a seventh-grade language arts teacher at Karrer, Sells, and Triway Junior High.
Her skill set includes continuous improvement, data and assessment, staff professional development, instructional leadership, student support and special education, school law, curriculum implementation, mission, vision and goal setting, written communications, parent and community engagement and literacy development support. She is an experienced public speaker, delivering presentations to audiences of many organizations during her career.
A published author of three books, Dr. Schwanke is also a contributing writer to many educational publications. She has been a graduate instructor in educational administration at Miami University since 2015.
She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Studies from The Ohio State University, an Educational Administration license from Ashland University, a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Allegheny College.
